Glamorgan young farmers enjoy a rally good day

Members of the Gadlys family farm and Glamorgan FYFC

Gadlys Farm in Glynogwr near Bridgend was the destination for one of the key events in the Glamorgan Federation of Young Farmers’ Club (FYFC) calendar supported this year by Massey Ferguson.

Over 100 members, aged between 10 and 26, were joined by crowds of visitors to enjoy the action-packed Rally Day which included a wide variety of competitions and activities for members to showcase their talents. It featured everything from tractor handling, woodwork, craft and bricklaying skills to singing and dancing!

Local MF dealer Brodyr Evans from Cross Hands provided an MF 5711 for the tractor handling contest and also displayed an MF 5713 S. Members of Brodyr Evans’ staff were on hand to provide product information and answer questions.

Glamorgan FYFC is made up of seven local clubs including Bridgend, Gelligaer, Gower, Llantrisant, Neath, Maendy and Wick. Each club offers a full and varied programme for its members with the aim of developing new skills, building confidence and providing a range of opportunities.

“It was a super day – fun, entertaining and informative, as well as a great opportunity to get to know one another better,” says Matthew Tucker, Chairman Glamorgan FYFC. “Many thanks to Massey Ferguson for stepping in to support us and to Anthony and Annabel Thomas of Gadlys Farm for kindly hosting the event.”
