Blackpool was the destination for this year’s National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs’ (NFYFC) Annual Convention.
Some 6000 members got together for a full programme at the seaside resort in record-breaking hot weather for the May Bank Holiday Weekend.
As a sponsor of the convention, Massey Ferguson was well represented at the event which saw lively debate, competitions and evening entertainment plus the election of Charlotte Smith as President for the second year running. This year, members raised an incredible £50,000 for charity on their way to the Convention by travelling to the venue in unusual ways including on foot, by bike and driving vintage tractors.
Attending the weekend’s activities for Massey Ferguson were William Judge, National Sales Manager UK and Ireland, Lindsay Haddon, Advertising and Sales Promotion Manager, David Chell, Sales Support Specialist and Richard Cox, Service Support Specialist.
“This is our sixth year sponsoring the NFYFC and we always look forward to the Convention,” said William Judge at the Massey Ferguson-sponsored Chair’s Reception on the first day of the meeting. “The last 12 months have seen some memorable joint events with the Federation including sponsorship of Young Farmer officials from the Five Nations to attend the Oxford Farming Conference. We are excited to be involved in the NFYFC movement and the promotion of farming as a viable career choice for young people.”
As well as sponsoring the Chair’s Reception, Massey Ferguson also hosted a dinner for the Young Farmers’ Five Nation organisations and representatives from Rural Youth Europe.
Adds Lindsay Haddon, “To be able to spend some time together with Young Farmers’ Club members is always very worthwhile. MF is very proud to be a sponsor of all the Five Nation organisations and long may it continue!”
