Red Tractor Week this year launches on the 15th September to help raise awareness of the benefits of buying produce from farm assured farms. Supported by Massey Ferguson, Red Tractor week is at the heart of the year round ‘Trust The Tractor’ campaign.
Watch out for the Red Tractor logo in your local supermarket or restaurant as the week is being supported far and wide by retailers, food service partners and of course, the most famous red tractor - Massey Ferguson!
Red Tractor has invited selected schools across the country to visit an assured farm during Red Tractor Week and see first-hand, farms in action. They have also launched a National Schools competition to get children thinking about where their food comes from and why it’s important to do so.
Grocery and fresh food supplier, Brakes, which provides the food to the Massey Ferguson UK based AGCO offices in Abbey Park is a member of Assured Food Standards and bears the Red Tractor logo on all of their produce. This means that all the food that has been produced is to strict standards of food safety, environmental protection, and animal welfare and with a clear guarantee of origin. This week at the Abbey Park office we will be supporting Red Tractor week in a number of different ways, all of which will be posted on the Massey Ferguson Facebook page.
AGCO and Massey Ferguson will also support the Red Tractor week through:
1. A special Red Tractor Week menu to be served in the Abbey Park restaurant.
2. A social media campaign through the Massey Ferguson Facebook page to promote the Red Tractor campaign.
3. Use of Massey Ferguson tractors to help consumers connect with how their food is produced and to explain UK farming’s commitment to quality that is behind the Red Tractor brand.
Red Tractor is the largest food assurance scheme in the UK. It helps ensure that the food you buy is traceable, safe to eat and has been produced responsibly – from farm to fork! Visit www.redtractor.org.uk for more information and examples of why you can Trust the Tractor. You can also follow the activity online at Red Tractor’s Facebook page and via the @RedTractorFood Twitter feed and using the hashtag #RTW2014 - or just simply look out for the Red Tractor logo.
